Santa Hat Brownies!

So we went to a Christmas Party on Saturday night and were hosted by some of the best people!! Sherri had such a festive theme going with her food, I wish I would have taken pictures of it all, but it has inspired me....now to find the time to host a party! Anyway, I brought along a dessert to share...what FUN these are to make and SUPER DUPER EASY!!

I made brownies and then baked them in my mini muffin tins....

Once they were cooled, I piped on whipped cream icing, followed with a strawberry that was topped with a small dollop of the icing....

Arent' they too cute? They were pretty tasty too!

Hope you all get inspired this season....invite me over for a taste test of your finished product!

Santa Hat Brownies

1 Box of Brownie Mix (I made mine from scratch...it was the recipe on the side of the Hershey's Cocoa container).

Strawberries

Whipped Cream Icing

DIRECTIONS: Mix and bake brownies according to package directions, for cake like brownies. If using a mini muffin tin, coat pans with cooking spray, fill pans about 2/3 full and bake approx. 12-15 minutes. (If you don't have mini muffin tins, you could bake in a 9x13 and using a small round cookie cutter, cut out bite size brownies). Remove brownies to cool on a wire rack. Once cool, pipe icing around the brownie, place strawberry on and then squirt a dollop of icing on the top. Enjoy!

WHIPPED CREAM ICING:

1/2 C. Crisco

1/2 C. Butter

1 C. Sugar

1 tsp. vanilla

3 Tbsp. Flour

2/3 C. Milk

Mix all ingredients together on low mixer setting, for 1 minute. Beat at high speed for 12 minutes!

Easy Bake!

Hmmm....maybe now that I am working more, Ry could do a "guest" post.

Reading over the directions.

Baking by a light bulb, doesn't get better than that...

Mixing away...

No pictures of the finished product...she ate it before I had a chance to get the camera!

Peanut Butter Swirled Brownies!

Just us girls tonight! The boys went to football and since tonight was the one "free" evening, Riley wanted to stay home! So we finished homework, baked and found a REALLY fun new blog....One Charming Party! Oh, we oooohhhhed and aaaahhhed the night away. Also, some of the blogs I follow have been talking about this "pinterest"....I, being the nosy one that I am, googled it and well, I think I am addicted. I didn't join the site, but really, I could spend hours (oh, wait...I did spend hours) just looking at everyone's ideas and creativity!

On to more important things like brownies! Here is what you need for the brownies:

My helper...

Mixing the brownies~

Top brownies with Peanut butter filling~

Swirl with a knife~

Enjoy with milk!

Peanut Butter Swirl Brownies

1 pkg Brownie Mix (my mix made an 11x7 rectangle pan - a 9x13 mix would be fine also)

Ingredients to make brownies

3/4 C. Sugar

1/4 C. Flour

2 Eggs

1/2 C. Peanut Butter

DIRECTIONS: For Peanut Butter filling - Combine sugar, flour, eggs and peanut butter. Mix on medium speed for 2 minutes. For Brownies-follow package directions and spread brownies into greased pan. Drop PB filling over the top and swirl with a knife. Bake according to package directions.

Peanut Butter Snicker Brownies.....

Yes, I did it....I made these....why, I ask myself, do I like to torture myself with these sinfully rich, decadent treats! I did have a taste and OH MY! These need to be packaged up and immediately sent with Jimmy to work tomorrow or I will nibble on them and then before I know it I will have nibbled them all up....and well, that would not be good for me!

I so wish that I could own a little shop to peddle all my little tasty things. It would be a dream of mine! You know the kind of shop....part antique, part food, 100% comfy~some place that people like to come and hang out....a place that you know everyone by name, just a little neighborhood shop.....maybe someday.
This recipe was adapted from the "Cookies and Cups" blog:
This is what you will need:

Yes, you make them in regular size muffin tins because somehow the "fun size" does not fit in the mini-muffin tins~

Cooling.....

After icing them....you need a 1/2 gallon of milk to go with them...

Peanut Butter Snickers Brownies
1 Family Size Package Brownie Mix + ingred. to make them
1 Bag "fun size" Peanut Butter Snickers
DIRECTIONS: Prepare brownie mix and place in muffin tins (makes approx. 10). Unwrap snickers and place in brownie mix. Cover up snickers with brownie batter. Bake for 17 minutes at 350 degrees. Remove from oven and cool on wire rack, in pan, for 30 minutes. Remove from pan and cool completely. If you icing the brownies, recipe is as follows:

PB Icing
1/2 C. Peanut Butter
1/2 Stick (4 Tbsp.) Butter
2 1/2 C. Confections Sugar
3 Tbsp. Milk
DIRECTIONS: Combine all ingred. with electric mixer and blend until smooth.
Chocolate Icing
4 Tbsp. Butter
2 1/2 C. Confectioners Sugar
1/4 C. Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
1 tsp. Vanilla
1/4 C. Milk
DIRECTIONS: Combine all ingred. with electric mixer until smooth.
Place PB icing in 1/2 of a pastry bag and Chocolate Icing in 1/2 of the pastry bag....pipe onto brownies!
